Ch-Ch-Changes
I love this song and its message of how embracing change with a desire to be your best self, even in a changing world, you can find success and happiness.
The lyrics have been playing over and over in my mind lately so I did some research on why David Bowie wrote the song. The music experts said he thought he needed to change his style to stay relevant to his audience.
“Every time I thought I’d got it made, it seemed the taste was not so sweet, so I turned myself to face me.
I turned and faced the mirror a few years ago as I was getting older and thinking about my life when I decided to retire from my life-long career. I needed a plan to create a chart breaking second act. After assessing my current situation, my purpose and my values, I decided to learn a new set of skills needed to move from the corporate world to become self-employed. I put a timeline together to transition into my business and now I am fully self-employed as a professional coach.
What do you see when you turn and face yourself? What changes could you make to create a more fulfilling life? What might be holding you back? What are you most passionate about and are you following those passions as aggressively as you can? Do you have a plan?
Our world today is full of strange changes happening so fast we can become overwhelmed and discouraged. Choose to live your purpose and find the happiness you want.
“Turn and face the Strange”. Trust me, if I can do it so can you!
